College Basketball: John Calipari has signed a contract with the University of Kentucky to coach the Wildcats through 2019. The extension is worth 36.5 million dollars. Calipari has a record of 64-12 for the two years he has been at UK and led the team to the Final Four last season. Before he went to Kentucky, Calipari coached at Memphis where he led the Tigers to the NCAA National Championship only to lose to the Kansas Jayhawks.
NFL: It was released that Cincinnati Bengals wide-receiver, Terrell Owens, recently shattered his ACL and is expected to return to football in mid-November. Owens has been selected to the Pro Bowl six times, and has 1,078 receptions, 15, 934 receiving yards, and 152 receiving touchdowns. He played eight years at San Francisco (1996-2003), two years at Philadelphia ('04-'05), three years at Dallas ('06-'08), one at Buffalo ('09), and was scheduled to play at Cincinnati for his second year during the 2011-2012 season.
MLB: The Cincinnati Reds took the first game of three against the Tampa Bay Rays 5-0 at Tropicana Field in Tampa, Florida.
   Cincinnati scored two in the first, two in the fourth, and one in the seventh.
   Jonny Gomes hit his eleventh home run of the year for the Reds, Fred Lewis went 2-4, and Brandon Phillips went 4-5 with two RBIs of his own.
   Reigning NL MVP Joey Votto went 1-5 and Jay Bruce went 1-4 with an RBI.
   For Tampa, both Matt Joyce and Ben Zobrist went 2-4.
   Third-baseman Evan Longoria,  center-fielder B.J. Upton, and designated hitter Johnny Damon went a combined 0-11.
   Mike Leake (7-4) earned the win for Cincinnati; pitching six innings, giving up four hits, while striking out three.
   Jeremy Hellickson (7-7) took the loss for the Rays; pitching six innings, giving up three runs off eight hits, while striking out nine.
   Game two of this series will be at 7:10 tomorrow night at Tropicana Field with the pitching match-up expected to be Johnny Cueto (5-2, CIN) against David Price (8-6, TB)
