NBA Draft Preview (Part 4)

Only five days now until the 2011 NBA Draft. Time to preview who most analysts believe is the second best point guard in this draft class; Brandon Knight.
Knight is a 6'3, 177lb point-guard from Coral Springs, Florida. He played at the University of Kentucky for one year before entering the draft averaging, 17.3 points a game and four assists. While in high school, Knight was voted the 2010 Gatorade National Player of the Year, and was a member of both the McDonald's and Jordan All-American teams.
Strengths: The best part of Knight's game is that he is explosive and quick. He knows what he wants to do before he does it with the ball, which allows him to find so many ways to score. Knight is a fantastic scorer who can use his quickness to attack the basket or pull up for a jumper. He also has good range from the three point line, which helps opens up his scoring options even more. Knight has an endless amount of ability when it comes to finding ways to score. Mentally, Knight is extremely tough. He likes having the ball in his hands, especially when the game is on the line. He can be clutch when it matters (See OSU game in 2011 Sweet Sixteen). Knight is competitive and likes to win, and his enthusiasm on the court shows. He will do whatever it takes to win, and still desires to learn. He is a true student of the game.
Weakness: Knight has some trouble when it comes to dribbling and passing which is probably why he averaged three turnovers a game. His shot is inconsistent, some games he is hot, some games he is not. His consistency has to improve to be successful at the NBA level. Knight is small for a point guard. Needs to lift and get bigger for himself to be comfortable against a typical NBA point guard.
Overall Conclusion: Knight is a great scorer with a good jumpshot that could lead to success in the NBA. He still desires to learn and wants to improve, which makes him even more attractive in the draft. Has problems controlling the ball, but if he improves that he could be the best point guard to come out of this draft.
Brandon Knight will go?? I see Knight going third to Utah or fifth to Toronto. Knight wont go to Minnesota (already have Rubio and Flynn) or to Cleveland when they take Duke point guard Kyrie Irving, so Utah or Toronto would be a great fit because both teams need a solid point guard who can both lead an offensive attack and score. Knight can easily do both.
